Saltmarsh Siren: Upcoming April & May Deadlines for Florida Skilled Nursing Providers

April & May are busy months for financial compliance, and particularly for Florida Skilled Nursing Providers! Here are the upcoming deadlines for financial reporting.

On or Before April 30, 2024

FNHURS Financial Reporting for Fiscal Years Ending 12/31/2023 - All skilled nursing providers must complete their reporting online in the Provider Data Submission System by the end of the month. A 30-day extension is available upon request, and for this first round of reporting providers may use their unaudited financial statements. Visit the AHCA FNHURS website for more information.
Fair Rental Value Survey (FRVS) Updates Must Be Completed - Providers who had capital expenditures over $500/bed/project for the prior year will want to update their FRVS reporting by the end of the month to ensure those expenditures are captured in the October 1, 2024, rate-setting period. Medicaid Cost Reports Early Filing - Providers who wish to capture increases in property taxes and insurance and/or direct care staffing for the October 1, 2024, rate-setting period must file their reports by the end of the month. All other provider reports for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2023, are due by May 31, 2024.

On or Before May 31, 2024

Medicaid & Medicare Cost Reports - For providers with fiscal years ending December 31, 2023, both Medicare and Medicaid cost reports are due by May 31, 2024.
Medicaid Quality Measures - May 31, 2024, is the cutoff for Quality Measure data to impact the Quality Incentive Payments for the rate-setting period that will begin October 1, 2024. Providers should make sure all Quality Measure data is up to date, and that any accreditation processes, such as Joint Commission, Florida Gold Seal, or AHCA National Quality Award, are completed by this date.
