Karie Lewis, MHAManager

Karie is a manager in the Tax & Accounting Services practice of Saltmarsh. She has over 25 years of experience in tax advisory and financial reporting across corporate, healthcare, and public accounting sectors. She specializes in strategic tax planning and compliance, delivering practical, client-focused solutions while guiding organizations toward long-term financial strength.

Karie has extensive experience serving healthcare organizations across a wide range of specialties, including dermatology, dentistry, ENT, and orthopedics. She has worked with practices ranging from single-physician start-ups to multi-location groups with more than 50 physicians and over $30 million in revenue, supporting organizations through formation, growth, mergers, and multi-practice consolidations. Beyond tax planning, her experience includes internal control reviews, buy-in and buy-out calculations at both the individual and entity level, physician compensation formula development, and STARK/anti-kickback compliance considerations.

She brings more than five years of private industry experience within a hospital setting, giving her valuable operational insight that strengthens her advisory perspective. Known for her collaborative leadership style and deep technical expertise, Karie partners closely with clients to navigate complexity and achieve their strategic objectives.
